Jonathan James - Faber Maunsell

Jonathan James is Director responsible for the Sustainable Transport Group.

He coordinates all transport sustainability projects and directs freight related project work, with 20 years experience of both general and freight transport planning policy and freight operations.  He has a wide knowledge of the freight and transport industry is a strategic thinker, and has a total commitment to quality project delivery.

He is currently Project Director for the Freight Best Practice programme, the DfT’ s behavioural change programme for the freight industry.  The programme offers information to the freight industry on operating more efficiently, thereby saving money with the complementary benefit of reducing CO2 emissions.

More generally he has and continues to act in the role of project director in a number of transport related research projects for public and private sector clients across all modes of transport including the recent Defra project Reducing the External Costs of Transportation of the Food Industry which included which involved the development of a unique external costs model spreadsheet.

He was also project director of an international research consortium investigating Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions from Heavy Duty Vehicles on behalf of the EU Commission.
